American Ballet Intensives is an intensive ballet workshop providing serious students the opportunity to study with professionals in the field. The benefits are numerous and include: a customizable program to fit each individual school, an ideal format for younger dancers preparing for their first summer intensive, or for advanced dancers seeking a "pre-summer brush-up" for their technique, small class sizes to facilitate individual attention, live piano accompaniment, and a prestigious world-class faculty.
Our faculty is dedicated to nurturing dancers in a caring and healthy environment that not only challenges the students but improves confidence, concentration, and overall strength and coordination. I invite you to enjoy this unique opportunity to contribute to your students' potential as dancers.
Our goal at ABI is to provide intensive instruction in a wide variety of dance classes in order to fine-tune, condition, and provide careful coaching for your students in both the classical and contemporary repertoire of today's great ballet companies. All ballet technique, pointe, pas de deux and variations classes, as well as additional programs such as dance history or body conditioning classes, are taught by former members of major dance companies--professionals in the field who have an innate understanding of what it takes to succeed in today's dance world. Within this intensive program students not only improve markedly, but they are empowered, enriched and inspired by the world class instructors.
Our programs at ABI are conveniently and individually planned for each school in order to provide the maximum benefit to students with minimum conflict with their normal weekly schedules. Our program typically begins at the end of a week, on Friday, and continues through Sunday in order to provide a 2 and a half day intensive workshop that fine-tunes students without disrupting their normal Monday-Friday school schedule. Classes can be custom made to suit each school, and include such courses as: ballet technique, pointe, pas de deux, variations, modern dance, composition, dance history, body conditioning, music for dancers, and so on. Whether students are interested in overall strengthening and knowledge of their craft or in preparing a variation for an up-and-coming competition, ABI will give young dancers the opportunity to gain rapid mastery and confidence in their dancing for that extra professional edge.
"I liked the way the classes made you really think about how to make your body work."
